#85 WR Josh Tallbott, Jupiter Christian High School

And....we.....are....BACK! After a long layoff, The Unknown Ballers is back and better than ever. Let me take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been emailing about getting the site back up and running. I really appreciate the love. We are going to make this as interactive as possible, so if you know of any prospects who you think are flying under the radar, email me ASAP and we will try to get them a player page. From now on, every day or two I will post another prospect, so make sure you are checking back every day. Last summer, we were averaging close to five thousand hits per prospect. Hopefully, as we roll into this summer, The Unknown Ballers can continue to grow into a trusted site to uncover some diamonds in the rough. That being said, I am going to need some help. Enough of all this....let's get to the first prospect!

If you remember, last year we highlighted Marshyl Rothman from Jupiter Christian. Jupiter Christian is losing quite a bit with the departure of Rothman and Will Powers, but they've got a kid that you have to check out. Josh Tallbott is a 6'0 185 WR who looks like he has a mean streak! His stats weren't the greatest last year (12 catches, 178 yards, 3 TD), but his coach, Bill Powers, thinks that he is ready to breakout.

“Josh is a total stud,” Powers said. “He’s a D-I kid that no one knows about. I’d be really surprised if he doesn’t get an offer. He has the measurables that colleges are looking for. He’s a good cover guy and a good receiver. And he’s a really good blocker for a receiver.”

I want you to focus on that last quote, c/o Jason Leiser of the Palm Beach Post. Click on his film and check this kid out. I couldn't stop watching it. The physicality he shows is pretty rare in high school WR's. I don't know about you, but I think he has the tools to play in the secondary at a mid-major division one college. He looks like a man amongst boys in his first two plays (a disgusting crackback and a pancake 30 yards downfield).

As you progress into his highlight, you can see an extremely fluid running motion with above average vision. He uses his blocks well on his jet sweep carries, and certainly finishes every time he touches the rock. His ability to finish plays is what I really like about him. These days, especially in Florida, skill players tend to have bouts of laziness. They will run out of bounds a yard early to shy away from contact, or get down at just the right time. Tallbott seems to be seeking contact in many instances, which should make any coach smile.

All this said, I think his physical tools, matched with his athleticism make Josh Tallbott a can't miss prospect for some D-1 schools. What do you guys think? You can comment below the article and also click on what level you think he is at. Until next time!
